THIS IS WHAT WAS CALLED "A GIBSON GIRL" RADIO TRANSMITTER AND WAS USED BY DOWNED AIRCRAFT CREWS TO SIGNAL AIR-SEA RESCUE OUTFITS TO COME AND GET THEM. THIS ONE COMES COMPLETE WITH THE BOX KITE THAT WAS USED TO HOIST UP THE ANTENNA WHILE SITTING IN A YELLOW RUBBER RAFT GETTING SEA SICK. I WAS NEVER ABLE TO FIND THE RAFT THAT WENT WITH THIS, THEY PROBABLY ALL ROTTED AWAY A LONG TIME AGO. THE RADIO WAS GRIPPED BY YOUR THIGHS AND "HENCE THE NAME" YOU THEN CRANKED TO YOUR HEARTS CONTENT UNTIL SOMEBODY REPLIED TO YOUR DISTRESS CALL. THE KITE IS 36" TALL BY 17" SQUARE.i WOULD SAY THAT BOTH ITEMS ARE IN GOOD, TO VERY GOOD CONDITION.
